GLO Resources is currently hiring an experienced Pipe Layer/ Fitter to work in Sanford, NC. The pay rate is between $22- $30 an hour depending on experience. Perdiem offered to those who qualify. The schedule is Monday Friday, 6:00 am 3:30 pm (9-hour days) with occasional overtime depending on project deadlines. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a reputable company.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up sanitary and stormwater sewer systems, including structures and piping.
• Trim pipes to the specified length.
• Assist with pipe alignment during installation.
• Position and align pipes in preparation for sealing or connecting.
• Verify slopes to ensure they meet required standards, using levels or lasers.
• Join pipe sections and secure joints through bolting, cementing, or gluing.
• Drill and tap pipes to install auxiliary lines or devices.
• Level and grade trench foundations with tamping machines and hand tools.
• Provide training on pipe-laying methods to others.
• Perform various general labor and construction tasks as needed.
• Install trench boxes and support shoring materials.
• Other duties may be assigned as necessary

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years pipe experience with sizes 4 to 60 ductile iron pipe.
• Comfortable entering excavations 5 to 20 deep
• 1 year experience with pipe laying techniques
• Experience working with ductile iron pipe, mechanical pipe, fast tight pipe, and flange pipe.
• Able to operate both simple hand and power tools and pipe lasers
• Ability to communicate well with supervisors and co-workers

This position involves regular physical activity, including:

• Standing for prolonged periods.
• Frequent bending, kneeling, and crouching.
• Pushing and pulling heavy objects.
• Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
